Sorry, but this site only help begin to help pick a lawyer;  we can't give you the name of the lawyer for you!  But, if you think you might need a lawyer, you probably do need, at least, to consult with one.  Do not take the risk of not having the legal help you need. Maybe first decide what type of attorney you might need since many attorneys limit practice to certain areas of law.  Do you have limited funds?  Do you need a large and prestigious firm?  A criminal lawyer?  A family lawyer?  An elder lawyer?  Do you prefer to ask a general practitioner first?

This site lists directories that allow you to search by area of practice and geographical area.   IF you want to spend a little money you can go to the lists that include education, experience, etc.  Law Libraries may allow you to drop in and check these resources also.

There are many other directories on the Internet.  When using a  directory or lawyer service, do remember to ask yourself  "How are these attorneys located for me?  Do they pay to be listed?  Is there really one just firm, or a few,  behind the listing service?   Is there an "About Us" link on the site?   If not, why not?

Don't be afraid to ask and ask around:  When I had to deal with an aunt's estate in another state, I walked into the Probate Court and asked the secretaries which lawyers were doing a good job.  When  I needed a nonprofit attorney I checked to see who wrote the books used in continuing education courses of the state and local  Bar Association.  And if you find the perfect lawyer but can't afford the fee, do not be afraid to ask that 'perfect lawyer' for a referral.  Attorneys who are active in a certain field of law know who is out there,  who is capable and more affordable.

There are many good attorneys in Philadelphia and it is worth a bit of research on your part before signing on with one.
